A 2-week shut down is a decompression period where you limit the new pet's environment and stimulation to help them adjust.

Foster Agreement

Please read and respond to each item below.

I agree to foster the pet(s) for the benefit of the pet(s) and not for any personal gain.

If I wish to adopt the pet(s) I am fostering, I understand I am required to pay the adoption fee.

I understand there will be no charge to the rescue from me for boarding/caring for the pet(s).

I understand that the rescue warrants that it has NO knowledge of any vicious or destructive tendencies of this pet. I agree to assume full responsibility.

I understand it is recommended that the pet(s) be isolated from my personal pets for a minimum of 2 weeks.

I understand the rescue is not liable for any illness or disease a person or pet may contract from the foster pet(s).

Should any damages occur against my pet, from the pet(s) which I am providing foster care to, I understand that I am responsible for any resulting veterinary costs.

Should any damages occur against the pet(s) which I am providing foster care to, caused by my pet, I understand that I am responsible for any resulting veterinary costs.

While responsible for the care of the pet(s) in a reasonable and loving manner, I am NOT liable for any veterinary bills.

If the pet(s) in my care dies, I will contact the rescue immediately.

The rescue will provide the pet(s) with the appropriate vaccinations and boosters.

I UNDERSTAND THE RESCUE MUST BE CONTACTED PRIOR TO ANY VETERINARY VISITS UNLESS IT IS AN ABSOLUTE EMERGENCY.

I understand in rare circumstances if the rescue is not able to provide veterinary care, I may need to transport the pet(s) to an approved vet.

The rescue will provide all necessary materials to foster this/these pet(s) (crate, food, leash, etc.).

All material borrowed from the rescue must be returned upon completion of fostering.

I agree to inform any individuals who are interested in one or more of the pet(s) that they must fill out an adoption application through the rescue.

I agree to immediately return all pet(s) fostered to the rescue when requested.

A representative of the rescue has permission to inspect my home and property at a mutually convenient time.

If it is determined by either party that the terms of this agreement cannot be fulfilled, I agree to return the pet(s) immediately.

If I have neglected to initial any item in this contract, it is still assumed that I have read and agree to abide by the stated term.

I acknowledge that my responses above indicate that I have read and understood each item in this foster agreement.
